Sorry to jump in on this thread, I am also after s product to match the white rubber sealer, I’ve done some repairs to my rear valance/ boot pocket any ideas on products to use or match in would be great

AFAIK, there's nothing other than primer under the majority of the polyurethane underseal used on E30s. Any seams and joints will have seam sealer brushed into them, which could be described as a white rubbery substance. Seam sealer is readily available from any motor or paint factors.

The product your looking for is 3M 08800, its a 2 part sealer that needs a special gun to spray on.
I purchased mine from: www.spraygunsdirect.co.uk
To cover total underbody of e30 took 17 bags (250ml), and not cheap.
It took a month of weekends to remove old sealer with a heat gun.
3m sealer looks and feels like original, when set, paint same colour as car. Bobs your uncle

That's the black (or grey) coat. OP was asking about a white substance underneath.
