Odd electrical problem on temperature gauge

Brian, temperature gauge will marginally increase when blower is on and also will rise/fall when indicator is active. Have checked the nut on the back, all good. Thoughts ? Earthing issue somewhere ?

Most likely earth related, as you say. All relevant earths are at the stud behind the glovebox, but there may be splices tucked away in the loom as well that could be resistive.
