am over hauling an M20 head and the exhaust values are caked in thick carbon.
whats the best way to remove this - valves are out of the head btw.
any input would be most welcome.
Thanks

Wire wheel on a power drill in a vice.
I found the cone shaped wire more effective what ever way it will get the carbon off without damaging the valves as the valves are a harder metal.

Had considered something like this but was worried it would be to aggressive and damage the valve...drakesmith wrote:Wire wheel on a power drill in a vice.

No way the vavles are hard steel. It wouldn't even put a scratch on them.aimlessrock wrote:Had considered something like this but was worried it would be to aggressive and damage the valve...drakesmith wrote:Wire wheel on a power drill in a vice.
