Hi there,

Changed some steering rack gators at the weekend as the old rubber was completely perished.

However, the replacement rubber gators are not the same as the originals in that the end of the gator facing the wheels needs to be fixed onto a large plastic disk using cable ties.
My rack does not have these plastic disks, but I see you get them with new track rods, e.g.

I can see why this change has been done, i.e. so to replace the gators you don't need to disassemble the steering arm completely to change them. Just seems daft to buy complete track rods just to get the disks!

Anyone know if you can buy these disks separately or do I need to buy the complete track rod? Anyone had this issue?

Cheers,
Will

Scratch that, went for inner tie rods as they could do with replacing.
