I'm trying to remove the cables that go from the sunroof motor to the sunroof rail thing on either side of the sunroof, as well as the motor itself. but I'm having trouble. I need to remove the motor(which is loose), cables and pretty much everything but the tray.

Could anyone please advise on how to do this? Is this possible without removing the tray?

Photos to help.

Motor/gearbox should drop down and out after removing its fixing bolts.
For the cable you need to remove multiple small self tapping screws and remove the large stainless steel plates. These have lethally sharp edges, and are a stuck in non setting sealant.
Disconnect the cable from the rest of the mech., and pull them out of the guide tubes.

Motor/gearbox now out, metal plates out. Cut myself on those a while back..

thanks for that.

I'm still confused on the cables. "Disconnect the cable from the rest of the mech." From which end do I disconnect them and from what. Sorry if this sound stupid. Genuinely lost.

Cheers.

Just seen a video of a guy remove the cable end thing crimped on at the sunroof end. Is this what you mean by disconnect the cable from the rest of the mech?
