Hi all,
Developed an intermittent clicking in the rear of the car when under acceleration / torque. It varies in speed depending on how fast I'm travelling but as soon as I let off the noise disappears.
I belive it's the N/S Drive shaft as when looking for play I hear a metallic clunk when pulling it away from the diff into the wheel.
Driveshaft the other side dons't make this noise and has less play.
After wobbling / pulling the N/S driveshaft the noise disappears for about 200 miles then returns.
Suspected bad bearing or similar, so when i'm moving the shaft it moves the bad area of contact?
Does anyone have a Driveshaft in nice condition they are selling?
Or know a good price on a new one?
Thanks
Driveshaft Noise?

The quickest fix (short term) is to swop the shafts over. They will rotate in the opposite direction and use unworn parts of the bearings?

Thanks mate thats a good idea but double my work! I also read that swapping shafts can lead to other failures as the bearing surface is hardened into one direction?scallyally wrote:The quickest fix (short term) is to swop the shafts over. Im hoping I could just swap it out for a decent one!
