Motronic 1.1 & 1.3 M40 Pinout

looking at the pin outs of the motronic 1.1 & 1.3 against my own car, some of the pins are different. Im guessing all the info in the net is for 325i wiring.

depends if its face or preface as the wiring is different i think on pin 20

You'll struggle to find a pre facelift M40 anything, and "pin 20" refers to the C101 engine loom plug, not the ECU.
I've never seen a M40 ECU pin out in print anywhere. All the on line wiring diagrams seem to be for US spec. cars, where they only had the M42 for face lift four pot cars.
I've traced out my own diagrams for the pins I'm interested in for the M40, but I can'r find that at the moment.
Easiest way to identify any you need to know is to slip the cover of the ECU plug off and check the colours of the wires and which pins they connect to.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's found this. It's not much of a difference, but there is a difference. I'm going to draw out my own. If you find yours Brian maybe we could cross reference [/quote]
