So, this is what I want to know - Currently, I have a cluster with time clock in my '87. 316. Is it possible to adapt a cluster with tachometer? If possible, how is it done? Is it just necessary to connect the cables or does it take some more effort? Thanks!

I came across this problem just once, many years ago, and as far as I can remember, I think it's just a straight swap for the entire cluster. It might even be possible to swap a tacho. into your existing cluster.
