The mounting nipple at the base of the hinge has rotted away, leaving a rusty stump, and the "ball" is inside the old strut.
Before I remove the roof to try and fix this, does anyone know how the ball mount is constructed - simply welded to the frame, or threaded?
Just to give me an idea of what I'm up against.
