Hi all
Can anyone shine some light
My windows only work with the door open don't seem to work off ignition
Also my heater fan stopped working could these be linked ?

Mirrors weren't working. Traced fault to a wire come adrift from cigarette lighter maybe had shorted on something.
Fan problem was also a wire I left off on the starter motor must be a feed for fuse box or some signal for something

Wire you left off of the starter motor (which you omitted to tell us you'd been messing with!*), was the wire that controls the unloader relays K5 and K7. These supply power to the door mirrors, the heater fan, electric windows and roof with the front doors closed, and heated seats, if fitted.
Whatever had come adrift from the cigarette lighter was nothing to do with your problems. If the red/yellow wire on the lighter had shorted out, and blown its fuse, the windows wouldn't have worked with the doors open either.
