Just received this earth cable from the dealers but a bit suprised that it doesn't have a rubber coating.

Should I wrap it in electrical tape before fitting? What would you guys recommend?

I wouldn't wrap it in electrical tape. Leave it as it is or get some heatshrink on there.

I was thinking heat shrink but I don't have any here. Surely some covering would be better than nothing?

The adhesive on electrical tape will be affected by the oily atmosphere under the bonnet, and turn into a slimy mess. Heat shrink OK, loom tape OK, as it is OK.

The old one had a coating which is why I questioned it. I am just going to fit it as it is, thank you for the advice :thumb:
