Possibly I'm being paranoid... I have an in tank pump from ECP which did a couple of k miles but was replaced as a precautionary as it started whining. Starting up the next dat the whining was gone, so maybe it was some crap in the tank (it was 2 year old fuel).
Should the pump be submerged in petrol to stop it drying and seizing etc?
Thanks in advance.
Should a used fuel pump be stored any particular way?

Insides of the pump are steel, and are washed clean by petrol, so will readily corrode when stored.
Hold the pump upside down and drip some light oil into it to prevent this.
