Has anybody experienced the coolant pipe that connects the top of the radiator to the thermostat housing blow up like a ballon with pressure?
I am wondering if this is linked to old pipes or a more serious problem?

Any help welcome

Nice one, so hopefully that's confirmed its a structural problem with the pipe rather than a more serious pressure problem or whatever.

change the hose as it could be fatigued from age but if it still does it, it might mean pressure from the combustion chamber getting into the coolant system
