Hi,
I have a 1991 E30 318i convertible. Apparently this has a 63L tank, is this correct? My one is leaking badly where the filler pipe attached, tried several repairs but no good.
Has anyone bought one of these http://www.ebay.ie/itm/371140711349?_tr ... EBIDX%3AIT
as a replacement, any opinions?
Did i read some where there a plastic alternative?
I need to get it sorted asap as I have a NCT/MOT due.
Thanks
ebay fuel tank

That's what I'm afraid of, buy a 2nd hand one, same trouble to fit & then leaks after a week a˜¥
Did u find any plastic ones when u were looking, I've seen them mentioned but haven't found them

They should be fine but you need to paint/stonechip them.
To check it's the correct size for your car have a look underneath and if you can't see a pipe connecting the two halves you have the 63ltr if you can see it you need the 55ltr.

Just fitted one of those - seems OK. I painted it again for longer life, and will wax it too. Fits perfectly though - but I had troubles if I didn't fit the front part of the tank first.
For the money vs. the risk of a dodgy second hand one, it's a no brainer.
