Alright lads im trying to remove a crankshaft bolt on an m20 here.

I had a mate throw her in fifth gear with his foot on the brake, while I pulled hard on a breaker bar but it wont judge.

So I am going to look for a large scaffolding pole for more leverage, any better techniques?

It is on axel stands at the front, using this technique there shouldn't be an issues with her bumping of the stands is there?

thanks in advance

Jam the breaker bar against the chassis rail, on a wooden block, and engage the starter motor. But a sheet or similar over it, to prevent the bar flying around the workshop if it flies off.
Large rattle gun is the best tool, of course.

This method has never failed me.

My air gun does sometimes struggle with BMW crank bolts, and my gun is rated to 1200lb/ft I think. I've found that a little heat with the heat inductor helps get them off of you do have an air gun and a heat inductor to hand.

Is it just me or is this timing belt very slack and I may have just had a lucky escape?

Lads you know coolant hose which has the metal bracket pipe running between it, where does it attach to? Really scratching my head here, fan and radiator and the other two hosed are fitted and I just can't see where this goes. Anyone any pics?

Cheers
