Tranny oil?

Got the cabby back from mot first time on the road in 7 years,i need to change auto transmission fluid and tips and oil recomendashions chaps,its a sports switchable 320i,thanks folks

Make sure you do the filter in the box too

I was thinking about that,not many pennies too,but im wondering if all oils are equal?

Always use a good quality oil. If it's £25 cheaper it's no good. That £25 saved could cost thousands down the line

Dexron III is what you need (which replaced Dexron II). No fancy expensive oils like modern auto BMWs. Definitely do the filter at the same time - like you say, they're cheap enough.

The gearbox oil should be changed every Inspection II iirc but Dexron III ATF is so cheap that I've tended to change mine every 20K.

It only needs standard Dexron III changed at regular intervals.

It's been stood for 7 years change the filter as well
