Hi all,

As per the title, looking at buying a second hand one. What price you reckon it should be worth? Easy to use for beginners? Never welded before. Anything I would need to know before getting it?

Thanks for the help.

Snap on don't make mig welders Cebora do and label them Snap on , B O C etc . I have a Cebora and a B O C which work well and are reliable and are cheaper to buy second hand without the Snap on stickers .

if you are just starting to learn welding then i would suggest getting your self a cheap 2nd had welder (either gas or gasless) to learn how to set up first.

no point going out & buying a top of the range welder if your a noob.

some cheap ones can be just as good as expensive one's.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

Hi thanks for the advice guys, I am only looking at second hand ones getting a sip migmate 130 (I know they're not very good) which has had some modification to make the wire feed smoother. Cost 40 quid so don't really care if it's not good just hoping to learn with it, if I can do a decent job with it then will use it on the car.

Should be here by the weekend will most likely have questions with how to get started but will try and get a manual online somewhere

Mig welding forum has lots of info, there is two e30 projects on there one can and a touring belonging to a member on here.

The welding on the touring was extensive!
