188 vs 168 diff

Hello,

Does the size of diff important for 325i?

I now still use 168 small diff and planning to upgrade to 3.73 188 diff open or lsd? I don't know does lsd is important or not as I always travel long journey every week.

And anyone here know the price for 3.73 lsd diff and who is the special trader that can dismantle it?

A 168 diff. is fairly close to its limits when coupled to a 2.5 engine - much more so than if a smaller engine (240) gearbox is used instead of the correct for a 325i 260 gearbox.
A 188 is the correct type for a 325i, and swapping a complete one (including output shafts) is a straight swap, apart from a small adjustment to the sliding part of the prop.
