Hi All,

I understand this has been discussed previously but I have a leak in my passenger front footwell.

It seems to be coming from behind the grey cover in the picture. (As you can see the water stain line going down on the left side.)

The scuttle vent was clogged but I think I've managed to clear it up but the leaking is still there, admittedly not as bad but still there.

Could you let me know what else I may need to do to put a stop to it? Would applying silicone be my best bet?

Thanks

I would take that plate and the glovebox out then have a good look up there, chances are the windscreen is leaking or the bulkhead has rusted through behind the fusebox.

Those two rust patches on the glovebox bracket look very suspicious.

Best get your Welder out because I reckon the main loom aperture is rotten or even worse the scuttle channel

Was dreading that, got a feeling it's most likely rust than the windscreen. Any idea of cost to get rust from there cut out and welded up? Also if you can recommend anyone in the west midlands area that can do it? Thanks

Difficult to give a cost without seeing pics of total damage, best bet is to remove stuff till you've found it.If youre lucky you won't have to remove the dash.
There is a lad on fb zone advertising welding services in Birmingham and from the few pics he has posted he looks pretty decent.
Any pro Welder is going to charge £100-£150 for a full days graft, the more parts you remove the less time he spends on your car the less he/she will charge you.
I also do welding but I'm an hour's drive away in Warrington

Do you have a link for the facebook page? I'll try contacting the guy from there, will have to get to work stripping the car once I finish work.

If you know where every screw, nut and bolt is.
I was talking more about cutting down on the cost on paying for man hours

How do I remove the black rubbery thing?
I seem to be ripping it.
