e36 topfill rad on M20

Hey chaps,

Before I spend money on a new expansion tank and silicone hoses I'd like to find out if it's possible to use an E36 top fill radiator instead.

Do these get used for the 24v swaps?

I'd like to use this to clean up the bay a little.

Are the physical dimensions, mounts and outlets etc easy to negotiate in the e30 bay?

You can use an E36 rad. if you want, but it's not a 'top fill' rad. No one has used oner of those since the '70s.
The E36 rads. (and M40/42 E30 rads., along with most others on later BMWs ) have the expansion tank mounted beside the rad. The plumbing configuration is exactly the same as those E30s that use a separate tank.
There are three sizes of E30 lower radiator brackets available, and by selecting the correct combination, most radiators will fit. The E30 top fixing bracket will also usually fit.

I guess I need to get the biggest availible fir cooling the hot M2o eh
