As it don't light up and would love to get the bulb if there is one.

There is a bulb but it is usually down to a broken wire that runs under the centre console to behind the hand brake

Yep, it sits it a bulb holder and is visible when you remove the trim.

It's 99.99999999% certain that the wire to the bulb has broken.

I wouldn't put the odds quite as high as that! It's an incandescent bulb that's on all the time the ignition switch is on, after all, and there's the possibility that someone has 'borrowed' fuse 9.
If it is the wire, the bulb holder and length of wire back to a point that doesn't move when the gears are selected should be replaced, not repaired, for similar reasons, if not causes, that the wire to the road speed sensor on the diff. should only be replaced.
