Having a bit of trouble fitting a new power steering belt. We have got the pas pump and alternator as loose as they will go and just can't get the belt on.

First thing I want to make sure is that I have been given the correct belt. Does anybody know many teeth the belt should have?

You haven't said which car you have, which makes answering your question difficult!
Number of teeth is irrelevant, and probably varies with make. The length is what matters, which should be written on the outside of the belt.
Four cylinder cars should be 800mm, 320 should be 810mm, and 325 uses 825mm.
The one you have will probably be long enough if you can get it on, so you can try winding it on by turning the crankshaft with a 22mm spanner or socket.

Thanks Brian. Managed to get it on by turning the crankshaft nut.
