I have been trying to get the back adjustment to work on my seat, I changed both mechanical bits on the sides but it still kept jamming. So i decided to dig deeper and found that the metal spindle thing was actual snapped off. Can this be soldered, welded etc?

I really don't fancy stripping the leather off and replacing the base. Maybe someone has a base going?

Any ideas folks?

i suspect that even if it can be welded you will have to strip the leather anyhow..

Which ever option you decide to take your going to have to remove the leather.
Weld -remove part of the leather and foam
Replace frame- remove all leather and foam
Second hand base-very doubtful you will find a matching colour and good condition leather.
Its not that difficult, the hardest part is getting the bloody bar out!
Its just time consuming and the cost of some hog rings and hog pliers

That can be welded just fine but as stated you will need to completely strip the seat to weld and then paint it. I've done it loads of times :D

I can't weld so i think the best option is to replace it.

Just walk into any small welding factory near you with a stripped frame and they would weld it up for you for a couple of BEST`s
