Hey guys just received my new fuel tank. Do I need to paint it ?

It seems like it's ok! But thought maybe a coat of stone chip Hammerite etc??

I painted my atp pattern tank with black stonechip, it seems to be OK although my car is a garage Queen!

Asked the same when I picked up my new tank!!!
I had mine powder coated before christmas - about £60/70 iirc!!!

Was going to coat the inside as well (googled rustys tank sealer!!!) to try and make it last as long as possible, but not got round to it yet and will prob just go on the car as it is!!!

Even if you brush paint it with a tin from Halfords, it will help preserve it better.

The paint on it as supplied is likely to be little more than the thinnest single coat of paint possible, to stop it rusting from the time of its manufacture to its arrival at the customer's premises.
