After following e30 tecs bad call on ht silicon used to reseal fog light glass(it doesnt set, specialy when you buy a dodgy tube on flea bay)i though id better ask the zones advice.iv just got my new seal to go around the hood storage compartment on my convertable and black silicon just doesnt seem right,due to its propertys off eating metal(the vingear smell is a dead give away)so what do i use?no tiger seal or no nails jokes please guys

I used black Sikaflex on mine. Worked a treat. It's really good stuff, can't beat gunk that comes in a metal tube!

It does take a while to go off though, I left mine taped in place overnight, inside.

I used the non contact evostik stuff. It worked fine.

Thanks guys.any one else got any input?i must be geting oem or ocd in my old age .after try to remove grot and tin worm i want a 75 quid seal not to go bad again on a now white car

im going to bne usuing this on my main beam lense as i had to take it apart as it was foggy,i read up on it an its seems to be good stuff ill keeo you posted

I used high temp silicon on my cross hair hlamps and had no probs with it.
Got to say though sikaflex is good stuff but there are lots of different variations of it for different applications

I presume he means the sort that doesn't instantly stick for all time the first time it touches the other surface.

id see this but wasnt shore,thanks for your input,im going for this,cheers,cant say enough for the zone
,one more ,my rear veiw mirror has departed what should i use to stick it back on screen?

Loctite Rear View Mirror bonder available from Euro Car Parts etc. Do not use superglue, it does not expand in the summer heat and may crack the screen.andysheep wrote:one more ,my rear veiw mirror has departed what should i use to stick it back on screen?
