Horn functionality on 13-button OBC?

Hello friends!
I have a question about the horn in the 13-button OBC kit. What does it do? What is its functionality? It's part no 20 on this diagram.

My current horn is rusted and dead. Before replacing it with a new one, I wonder if it is worth replacing at all. I mean if it is for something significant like car alarm, then I will replace it. If not, let it just sit there like that. My e30 does not have a factory alarm fitted. So I wonder then what is this horn there for?

It's the sounder for the CODE alarm/immobiliser function of the OBC.
I wouldn't rely on it to protect your car!

Thanks. I also thought so. I have a proper alarm and of course would not rely on this one. Still don't know if I should get the OEM horn or fabricate any other horn to fit the 30 plug. OEM horn is quite expensive.
