Hi sorry which way you'd does the pin go does the shoulder end go to water pump or towards the belt thanks

Sorted found the lug hole where the tensioner pin needs to slot into just part the pump gasket does not leak after refitting everything

It's difficult to get the pump into place and keep the gasket where it should be while pushing against the tensioner spring. The spring and pin do nothing once the timing belt tension is set, and can safely be left unfitted when changing the pump, and kept in a safe place until belt change time.
