I'm troubleshooting a whine under acceleration from my 318is.
The part at fault seems to be the layshaft bearing. As I understand this is probably a pain to get to, so the question is, would I be better off just getting a new gearbox instead of getting it fixed?
If it's an easy fix I might have a crack at it myself.
