Who has done a swap from auto to manual? How much work needs to be done? Can someone with only mild mechanical experience do it quickly?

The wiki link is for a complete engine and transmission swap, so only about half the article is relevant, and a lot is missing. No mention of clutch components or the all important spigot bearing, the reverse light switch loom, or how to disable the starter inhibitor properly.
