Hi Guys, just wanted your advice on the choice of suspension on my e30 I have 17" Alpina reps with 215 45 r17 Yokohama parada tyres and currently swapping the engine from e36 328i sport, also I will be putting some mtech 2 bumper kit too.
My question is what should I do with suspension
Keep it original( which works fine no problems )
Change springs and lower it
Upgrade the whole lot with the suspension and spring

My worry is I live in north London and lots speed bumps here

I would appreciate any help

Thanks all

Eibech or H&R -35mm springs, Bilstein B4 dampers, and loose the 17" rims and rubber band tyres.

15" or 16" max. if you want it to handle and retain comfort. Unsprung weight is everything, and your choice is just too heavy.
As steve_k (sarcastically, I suspect) says, it's hard to improve on the OE BBS with the correct size tyre.

i agree brian, but folk need to remember to check ALL suspension components before they blame the fact on the 17inch wheels they might be running,

i've got 17" compo splits with a custom suspension set up & it's a firm ride but no where near a back breaker.

Compo splits won't weigh much though. 1 piece 17" wheels, especially those at the lower end of the price range weigh a ton. IMO make the steering and suspension feel slow witted.
