Pulse revving and no acceleration

Hi, hopefully someone can help, I've just converted my m20b25 from auto to manual and it started up and drove fine on the test drive, now the engine starts but revs in pulses and have no throttle. I've disconnected the ICV and the engine revs high constantly, does the same with the AFM disconnected, I've checked all connections and hoses for leaks but all seems good, any help would be appreciated thanks.
Also the manual gearbox has 2 sensors (maybe crank) which my loom does not accommodate for could this be causing the issue?

Don't know how this may relate to you but when the ECU has been disconnected from the battery for a while, it 'loses its memory' and 'forgets how to idle' this manifests itself as the engine rhythmically reving when idling. If this is the fault you just have to let it idle for like 20 mins, switch off and the take it for a long drive using all the rev range

Thanks for the info, the engine had been out the car for 3 weeks but started fine after the conversion, I'll try leaving it running for a while and see if the Ecu corrects itself.
