hi all sorry if I'm asking something the answers blatantly obvious but i have a 325i on 1991 k reg.
the problem I'm having is the car will start and idle and rev up if i build the revs up slow but as soon as full throttle or anything over a quarter throttle it just splutters and starts backfiring unless i build the revs up slowly.
I've changed the coolant temp sensor, fuel filter and tried another crank sensor but had no luck. any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

This seems to be a common problem with no specific answer. Long story short, my fault was due to badly worn contacts on my dizzy cap \ rotor arm. Other things that were suggested to me but were not the problem were 1) tps must operate correctly. 2) AFM carbon tracks can be worn, can bend contacts to resolve 3) check for vacuum leaks ☺
