Hello im new here, i hope its the correct forum for this subject.

I have E30 325i euro version, with some suspension modifications:

-KW Sport shocks
-KW Sport springs (40mm lower)
-E90 drophats (10-15mm lower)
-IE eccentric wishbones (RACE purpose extremely stiff)
- stock sway bar
- Z3 steering rack

after two years with this setup, it became too much stiff, on some serious digs on the road i felt it hit the chassis. after a while i noticed some dent under the firewall near the fusebox.

my qusetion is what you think Ñaaused the damage? race stiff wishbones? e90 drophats? its felt like the shocks but they are in a good condition.
someone had the same experience?

This is very common on E30s with hard suspension, usually followed by rust issues where the spot welds weaken , the sealer cracks and moisture gets in :(

first of all, thanks for the answer. i'm very worried... first time i saw it, i was shocked and depressed :(

i knew about front engine mounth problems and rear subframe failure (common on E46) and there solutions, but i never saw cracks under the firewall. i cant find information about repair or some guide that shows the same problem.
as a reinforcement, will a strut bar do the job?
