im a novice as far as mechanics goes yet im trying to restore my e30 cabby 318i lux (1992)
so the problem is how is the spring, (which is attached to the bonnet latch and the release cable), attached to bonnet release cable?
I was cleaning the latch and the spring popped off .The spring has got hooks on both sides one hooks onto the bonnet latch and the other is supposed to hook onto the end of the bonnet relaese cable - however its just wire at the end of the cable in an L shape and the spring cant hook onto it and keeps slipping off.
im now scared of closing the bonnet in case the bonnet release slips off, doesn't work and the bonnet will be stuck closed.
