This coolant flange let go last night:

I've ordered a new one and seal from Cotswold which I should get tomorrow but can anyone tell me how to go about changing it?

It's on a M40 318i, and it looks like I need to remove the inlet manifold to be able to maneuver it out.

The other option looks like it might come out if I can remove the oil filter canister and then slide it out but I don't know if that's an option.

I want to make this as painless as possible as I'm trying to get the car finished and in for it's MOT which I booked for later this week.

thanks in advance.

Picture borrowed from Google images.... but it's hidden under the inlet as shown by the arrow.

If it's anything like the M42 you need to remove the following

1. Air filter top section.

2. AFM

3. Upper inlet manifold

4. Lower inlet manifold

Do not drop anything into the engine.
