Hello all i changed my fuel pump over the weekend as my old one started making a loud buzzing sound. I bought the part from GSF.
First of all the new part is louder than my buzzing older one. Secondly i cant get over the 3000 rpm mark. Once i get to about 2000rpm i can feel the car just holding back and then its very jerky to the 3000 mark.
All connections seem to be fine, i have kept the old pump so i will try reconnecting that to see if it solves it. Checked all the HT leads which were replaced less than 200 miles ago anyway!
Any ideas?

Hi, couple of questions for you
1. was the engine miss/starvation there prior to changing the fuel pump or as a result of the new fuel pump being fitted?
2. engine type? m10, m42 or m20 or ?

Is the pump you changed in the tank or mounted in front of the LH rear wheel arch?

Engine is a m20b25 and has an in tank pump but problem is now sorted...one of the fuel hoses had a tear in it under the hose clip which may have caused pressure loss.
However the pump is still very loud...you can hear it outside the car quite clearly...not sure if this should be happening with a brand new pump? I have checked to make sure its not touching the swirl pot in the tank etc.
Any thoughts?
