M40 316i 1990 Oil filter size

Can anyone tell us what size Oil filter a 1990 M40B16 takes?

(65mm x 104mm) or (83mm x 88mm)

Click on "part details" for each filter. You will see that the longer ones are for filter housings with a plastic top, and I've yet to find one of those fitted by BMW into an E30.
You need the shorter one for "aluminium housing lid".
