Hi all,

This is my first post on the forum but I've treated E30 Zone as my one stop shop for all things E30 in the three years that I've owned my E30! The wiki is excellent and I would be lost without it. I'm the very proud owner of a 1991 325i saloon (two door), it's RHD SE Euro spec and has a pampered life.

One of the jobs for this year was to sort the vague steering out. My (brilliant) indy mechanic has recommended replacement bushes as mine were worn, as well as a refurbished / replacement steering rack. I bought an E46 CS / purple tag rack but like a muppet did not sort new track rods, PAS hoses and spacers out. As this was discovered after the car was stripped down the plan has changed - the original E30 rack is being refurbished.

The more I've thought about this and read up it seems like I'm very nearly there in getting the E46 CS rack installed. Am I right in thinking that I could use my E30 inner / outer track rods with the E46 rack? Is it as simple as unscrew the track rods, fit them, get custom PAS hoses and linkage and off I go? From the wiki page DanThe supplies a kit - I've sent a private message but does anybody know how much this kit costs? If I could get hold of one sharpish it'd be brilliant to install the E46 rack and sell my refurbished E30 rack core (less track rods).

It almost seems too easy and if it is as easy as the above I'd rather go with the E46 CS rack! Thanks in advance for the help and again for the years of wiki guidance!
