Right, I'm having fuel gauge problems with the 325i Touring,

there is 3 quarters of a tank of fuel, and the gauge is reading just above the red or sometimes, empty.
the light is not on and has not been on for some time as there is always fuel in.

I replaced the sender unit on the lefthand side (not the pump side)
and it's just the same,

there was zero movement on the needle when I unplugged/plugged in the other known working level sender,
it's the original tank and gauge and it used to work perfectly,

all connections on the rear of the cluster are nice and tight/secure.

so whats next to try...

where do the wires go to from the level sender?
would i be able to stick my multi meter on the wires to get a reading?
if so what should it be?

don't know if it's relevant but I had a full tank last week and the gauge was only reading just over a quarter of a tank :?

When you say all the connections are tight, I'm assuming you mean you've tightened the nut behind the cluster for the fuel gauge as well?

Have you tried swapping the sender on the pump side for a working one?
