NS sidelight fuse keeps blowing but not instantly, I'm pretty sure it's blowing when I turn the lights off,I'm guessing switch? I'm not an electrical wizard at all but I've checked earth points and connections and can't see anything obvious, anyone else had this?

Short answer is no! OS sidelight fuse has plenty of known faults that cause it to blow, but the NS one is usually 100% problem free.
Loose connections and poor earthing won't cause a fuse to blow - needs a short circuit for that, however there is an earth connection to the lighting switch (for the headlamps), so the potential is there for your faulty switch theory to be correct, although it'll be a new one on me.
