Hi all does anyone know the approx weight for a 325 M20 engine and 5 speed manual box?? I'm going to be buying an engine hoist to do an engine swop on a 106 but want to get one that I can use to do my 325 with aswell. Would a 1 ton lift capicity be suitable??
Any help much appreciated

A one tonne is more than enough - but you may be a little restricted on the reach.

always times your best geues for the weigh by two for safetys sake go for a 1.5 ton hoist safer that way and then if you decide to put a 5liter v12 in with the gear box then you wont be caught out

Cheers for the advise, maybe look for a 1.5-2 ton hoist instead then.

i borrowed this old thing and never gave it back!

i don't know the rated weight (!) but it seemed happy and stable enough with this (m30 3.5) engine plus its auto gearbox hanging off it!
get the best you can afford, you never know what else you might want to lift with it...
