Hey all,
I'm no auto genius by any stretch, but I am fairly broke so I'm looking for some input on my problem. Hopefully it's something I can avoid taking it into the shop for.
My '87 325i convertible died a while back. It had been running fine, I got about 3 blocks from home and when I stopped at a light, it just died and would not turn back over. It just presented a whir when I tried to start it. I figured it was the starter solenoid not kicking the starter in. So I replaced the starter with a new one and, while I'm getting more rattles than before, I'm still pretty much spinning and not kicking in to start.
A friend said it might be a fuel delivery issue. I'm getting spark to my sparkplugs. So at least that's good.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Here's the video of it after the new starter trying to start.

Hate to tell you, but that's what my engine sounded like when the cam belt broke.
You need to explore that area before investing a penny more into this car.

Don't have sound on this laptop, so the vid. doesn't tell me much, but if you are getting sparks to each plug in sequence, then the cam belt isn't broken. It might have slipped a tooth or two though, so the results won't be much different.
