I just finished lapping in my valves. I did a test with water filling each compression chamber to check for leaks past the valves. Most of the valves don't leak anything but a couple leak 1 or 2 drips of water every 5 mins or so. Is this an issue or is this acceptable? By no means is the water flooding our or dripping every 5-10 seconds.

thanks

the only sensible use of lapping is to give it a few spins to check the contact area with the fine stuff after they have been cut properly. if youre relying on lots of lapping to fix irregularities after they have been cut then you are stuffed as you will only think its doing a proper job.

you probably need new guides, and get a machine to cut them proper. honestly you dont even need to lap them if they are properly cut. you can check them with prussian blue or a black marker pen.

the grit from lapping gets embedded into the faces so many pros dont like it as it will prematurely wear out if not cleaned properly
