One of them is the door looms - I knew they were in need of attention as central locking isn't working, courtesy light doesn't work on door opening, and the electric mirrors don't work either. Plus I want to install some tweeters (non premium car).
Anyway, it was a complete nightmare to get the female part of the C40x connector out (drivers side, not looked at passenger yet), most of the edge has just snapped off it was so brittle so there is no way the rubber boot will go back on now. Eventually I got the bugger out and the corrosion is clear to see.

So a couple of questions:
I need a new female connector but have no clue how to actually wire it - is it as simple as pulling the wires out of the existing connector and plugging into a new one? Also what is the green wire in the pic that runs straight through bypassing the connectors?
Secondly, the male part of the connector is not in the best shape but the plastic is OK, so will this just clean up or should I replace it as well?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
