on the front of it it says:

sounds  mate!
give them a buzz mate, see what they reckon! how did your last one compare to your current one? if it had that much increase you'd definitely know about it.... still doesn't explain why you had trouble with jayson's chip?

The 318iS is a real parts bin, there are 3 common ECUs used, all of which require a specific motronic version and checksum. Thats why I stopped developing them and left it to others.

good luck with the "BBR", they are good chips, however IMHO their idea of customer service leaves a LOT to be desired

I've had the same problem with my Viper chip!
Stuck it on the roller's expecting a decent result, in a sence (M40), and was very disapointed :-x
Put my original stock chip back in and everything is smooth and more responsive, trouble is it make's me fill like i'll be wasting my money buying a different chip :(

Does the Zone chip HONESTLY make a difference? :?

jonbuoy. the M40 zone chip has been well recieved by the few that have purchased one, always been dissapointed by the lack of take up on those :?

chips can be a very personal thing, another mans gravy and all that, some people want more everywhere( where poss ) others want a peaky feeling, me, I'll take the former everytime

no disrespect to Jay please peeps, lets put all that behind us and keep '06 a happy place

I might have to take you up on that geese, as long as it does make a difference
The chip i've got has spike's in it showing on the graph i got from the roller's  It did'nt feel bad on the road as you had a thrust up your back side at 3500rpm and 4500rpm as it showed on the graph but travelling at 70mph meant i was running at 3300rpm and using load's of fuel for no reason  :-x
It was good fun for a while but the stock chip is just as good if not better considering i'm not using anywhere near as much fuel :P Just wasted money finding this out which has pissed me off :x

ok peeps

went for a "spirited drive" to walton and back, about 30 mile round trip

i can only say that there is deffo more torque at high revs, overtakign above 3k was effortless.

low revs still not that good though

but deffo an improvement

I had a, "Viper 2 Ultimate" off of SwirlyE30 and that made it over fuel. I believe the expresion from the bloke at the Surrey Rolling Road was, "It's over fuelling like a Rover V8" 8O  :?
I should have just adjusted the afm at the MOT station but did'nt think about it and now i've broken one of the tag's off through rage :x :P
The chip i got off Jason is a, "Viper 2 Extreme". I was'nt that impressed with it so Jason offered to remap it for me, except i had to go to Birmingham for this from Essex but i wanted the best for my car :? So off me and the misses went and we remapped it going along the road. It seemed pretty alright but after a few day's the performance seem to die down and i found out that on the roller's it showed spike's on the graph where it was adding load's of fuel at different rpm's ie Spike's.

Chucked in the Stock chip and she's going back to her old self, getting alot better after 3500 rpm :D :D :D

I do want to try the Zone chip geese but i'm fed up with spending out and not getting result's :x
I'd be happy to have a test drive with the Zone chip tho..........Ant winkeye
Other zoner's will no doubt say it's because it's a 4 pot and M40 but this is the best M40 i've driven. I've been complimented on a few occasion's how quick it is for an M40 so i know there is more to come, especially how good my compression is, 180psi :D
I've been told i can do a lot with that winkeye
