i am thinking of buying an ecu from ebay for my 1989 e30 318i. The model number of my current ecu is 0265 103 041.
From the ebay description (model, year, etc.) it sounds like the ebay ecu should fit, but it has a different part number, 0 261 200 157. Is there any place where I can confirm if the ebay ecu will fit?

that number is to make sure that you dont put the wrong ecu in,dont change one digit,get the right one with the same exact numbers or you could damage your loom

Motronic ECU ~ 0 261 200 157 is for a M40 1.8, Motronic 1.3, years 87-93

Well, the 0 261 200 157 is for the right year and model for my e30. Not so sure about the Motronic version - how can I check that out?
And what about my current ecu (0265 103 041) - does anyone know what Motronic version that corresponds to or even if I have the correct ecu for the car!

0265103041 is a Bosch ABS ECU. Not a Engine ECU.
