Guys thought I'd say save time asking rather than going out and pulling out the old speakers.. what's the depth requirements for the front speakers? About to order a pair and the wiki only states that they need to be 5-1/4" or 13cm.. but doesn't mention a depth.
Only the following is stated in the speaker dimensions spec..
Woofer Mounting Diameter: 118 mm
Woofer Mounting Depth: 57 mm
Any help appreciated.

Buying them looks like hassle.. Websites with no prices.. have to enquire etc etc.. total turn off for consumers. Don't care how high-end they are

You've got one in each kick panel?
Or you're only using 5.25'' in the rears. Not sure what cabbys take tbh..
The spec on the GZRF13FXII is total wank, and at 60 quid for the pair that doesn't surprise me.. although I am noticing that anything that has less than 55mm depth has a shit spec..
So I'm guessing I'm not going to find a decent pair in this size, so just going to have to get the best of a bad bunch!

Cheers big ears.. I just ordered the Ground Zero Radioactive GZRF 52XII.. Not a brilliant spec, but like I said, best of a bad bunch!

The rears aren't a concern, there's lots of choice.. Old and new... And I got something up my sleeve for that. It's just those front ones which are a pain in the arse.

At least you guys have options for the e30 and even have off te shelf front speaker builds available
No such luck with the e24 and its crap 6x4's up front. I'm having bespoke door builds made to accommodate 6.5" speaker. Trying to keep it OEM looking as well.
More money being pissed away now

six figures on a property is fine lol on a 30 year old BMW, dropping a grand to get a couple of speakers fitted is a bit much for most sane peoplediable wrote:pffff in my world its 6 figures and a lot more stress......Kos wrote:you're not in my world yet and you don't want to be lolMitchen wrote: Tell me about it!
