DME / ECU location E30 318i

Advice please.

Just trying to learn about my car .....where everything is and try to understand what the parts do.... (1990 318i touring)

Where do I find the main DME / ECU ?

I thought it was the one behind the glove box, but I've researched that and it's apparently the ABS control unit.

DME = engine ECU, and is fitted directly above the driver's right knee on RH drive E30s.
Remove panel above the driver's knees to access it.
