I have a 14 inch kenlow fan on my M52 conversion, but the fan isn't coming on when it gets to temperature. When I turn the resistor you can hear it click but nothing happens. Its probably a simple problem but I dont have a clue about electrics. Does anyone have any suggestions what it could be or suggest a decent auto electrician in east london/essex not some guy who is going to tell me the whole thing needs replacing and charge me a fortune? Cheers in advance!

Corrected

Even with the edit it still doesn't make much sense!
First point is that the fan isn't supposed to come on "when it gets up to temperature". It's supposed to come on when the engine begins to overheat, otherwise it'll be wasting power and fuel.
Did it ever work?

What resistor are you turning? If its a cooker switch id say the first thing to do is rip it out and throw it away

Is there a relay in the circuit?
Where is the negative (earth) lead from the fan connected?
Is there a fuse in the circuit?
Where does the fan circuit obtain its power from?

There is a relay in the circuit, the negative earth is connected to the front panel. There is also a fuse which in the circuit which I should check, Also the circuit obtains its power from the battery.

I should also mention that the radiator had a leak and I got some rad weld as a quick fix, I had to fill it back to level with water and bleed it with the screw on the rad but maybe I'm not doing it right as temperature sensor is at the top of the rad. Would it be a good idea to flush it all and try again, whats the best way?

You can see where the leak is coming from:
