Hi.

I am having a issue with my brake switch, I even tried a new one and it does the same thing. Once I adjust it correctly it will work fine but if I either let go of the brakes real quickly, the pedal travels with too much force and causes the brake switch to "click in", and then brake lights permanently stay on.

This requires me to pull the knee panel off, and then adjust the brake switch further outward again and then it will work nicely and tick when the brake pedal contacts it, but however if you push the brake pedal too hard in. lets say by hand just to test, you get the loud "CLICK", and then the brake switch will no longer tick and engate/disengate when you press/release the brake pedal.

Sometimes even after working fine you turn the car off and then turn it back on in 1 week, and the brake lights are on.

Does anybody have any Tips on how to adjust it, the switch has 2 portions, the red bit and the other part. The red bit is the one I always adjust as its the only one that seems to do anything, no idea what the other bit does whether its a stopper or not, doesn't really seem to do anything or affect the operation no matter where you adjust it to.

Thanks.

Don't fully understand the above, but is the brake pull rod that goes behind the heater box properly adjusted?

sounds to me like a faulty aftermarket switch, fairly common with chinese/taiwan knockoffs, however genuine OEM parts arent 100% immune to DOA failure either
